Privacy Policy

SteamStatus.app (steamstatus.app) is a free Steam status and tools website. We do not require accounts, subscriptions, or sign-in to use the site.
What we collect
To operate the site we process limited technical data, including server access logs, automated uptime and latency check results, and aggregated hourly traffic samples used for our charts. If you use the Steam ID Finder, we send the identifier you enter (profile URL, vanity name, or Steam ID) to Steam's public Web API to return conversion results and, when available, public profile and ban information. We do not collect or store your Steam password, payment details, or private account credentials.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, referral sources, device type, and similar aggregate metrics). Google may use cookies and process data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can limit tracking through your browser settings, ad blockers, or Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies and local storage
Analytics providers may set cookies. We also use browser local storage for non-essential preferences (for example, dismissing the traffic-spike banner or remembering refresh timing). These are not used to identify you across other websites.
Steam data
Status indicators, player counts, Connection Manager listings, and profile lookups are sourced from Steam's public websites and APIs. That data is owned by Valve Corporation and subject to their terms. We cache some responses briefly to keep pages fast and reduce load on upstream services.
Retention
Uptime and traffic history used for charts are kept for limited periods (for example, roughly the last 24 hours of hourly buckets) and may be deleted during maintenance or when storage is reset. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and reliability.
Your choices
You can stop using the site at any time. If you are in the European Economic Area or another region with privacy rights, you may have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because we do not operate user accounts, we may only be able to act on requests tied to data you can identify (for example, a specific server log entry).

Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
