If the CS2 indicator above is degraded or down, matchmaking, lobby connects, or inventory actions tied to the game coordinator may fail even when browsing the Steam Store still works. When CS2 is green but you cannot queue, check Connection Managers on the main status page — a busy regional CM can block login before CS2 matchmaking starts.

CS2 vs Steam platform outages

Counter-Strike 2 sits on top of Steam authentication, Community, and Web API services. Weekly Steam maintenance and wider Steam outages often show up here first as Store/Community/login problems, then as CS2 queue failures.

What to try when CS2 matchmaking fails

Restart Steam completely (tray → Exit), verify game files, and confirm your download region is reachable. If our CS2 and Steam indicators are all operational, the issue may be local (ISP, firewall, or VAC auth delay) rather than a global CS2 outage.
